What is Kitabu?
Kitabu™, originating from the Swahili word meaning “book” (pronounced "Keh-TAH-boo”) is a medium of science fiction storytelling pioneered by Marcus Orelias with visual assistance from veteran Stanley Obende and Katlego Motaung. Kitabu is a word used to define science-fiction stories that are written by but exclusive to Black creators. The spirit of Kitabu is to embrace the most fantastical elements of storytelling whether the story is set in the past, present, or envisions the future.
What Anime is to Japan, is what Kitabu will be to Black creators looking for a genre to house their writings.
